Your overhang shade that is. Did you know that in New Mexico, the bulk of your energy use is for cooling? Utilize the building porches and overhangs to create shade for the majority of your glass area. Better yet, size the depth of your overhangs so they allow the sun in the winter and then block it in the summer.
